March recognizes and celebrates Women’s History Month — a time to celebrate the women’s movement and the incredible impact that women have in our society, in our workplace, and in the economy today. At ComEd, our future depends on the talented people who work every day in the field, in the office and everywhere in between to provide excellent service to families and businesses across northern Illinois. We are steadfast in our commitment to delivering on our pledge to remove barriers and increase opportunities so that more women and minorities can join careers in STEM, the trades and our industry. In an industry that is predominantly male dominated, female leaders make up 42 percent of the executive team at ComEd.

To learn more about what Women’s History Month means to the women in our organization, we talked to a few of our colleagues about their career journeys and what they are doing to pay it forward for the female leaders of tomorrow.

To support the leaders of tomorrow ComEd most recently launched the $250,000 Future of Energy Scholarship program aimed to help remove financial barriers to college for more women and minority students interested in STEM.  This program is accepting applications now for awards of up to $10,000.

Application deadline is April 8.  To learn more about ComEd’s DEI efforts check out the Powering Equity: 2020 DEI Annual Report.
