Have you ever seen one of these purple tables? You might have noticed them at an event in your community, or even spoken with a ComEd representative and learned about energy efficiency and customer assistance programs. These tables are a part of ComEd’s effort to bring bill support information directly to its customers.

One place you can be sure to find ComEd support tables is at a Powering Lives Resource Fair in a community near you. ComEd strives to be more than an energy company, and is proud to announce the continuation of its award-winning resource fair program in 2025, joining communities and businesses to connect thousands of customers to income eligible bill assistance, energy management programs, health screenings, job training opportunities and more.

The first ComEd supported resource fair of 2025, the Greater Chatham Communities-Home Expo, will be held on Saturday, April 26 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Tuley Park Fieldhouse in Chicago’s Chesterfield community. This event is designed to help connect potential and existing homeowners to support services and programs. In addition to utility-bill assistance, the expo will offer information on home improvements, property tax relief, and banking and governmental housing programs. “At ComEd, we recognize the importance of being present in the communities we serve and strengthening customer relationships by connecting face-to-face,” said Melissa Washington, Senior Vice President of Customer Operations and Strategic Initiatives at ComEd. “We look forward to again connecting with customers and bringing them the financial support and energy efficiency resources they deserve in an accessible setting.”

ComEd believes the best way to foster connection with its communities and bring support to its customers is with real life interaction and conversation. Be sure to check out a community resource fair near you. Or stop by the next ComEd support table you see to take advantage of a variety of customer and lifestyle support resources including how to navigate ComEd’s new bill assistance platform launched last month, ComEd.com/BillSupport.

Since launching the program in 2023, ComEd held nearly a dozen Powering Lives Resource Fairs to meet customers where they live. Last year, these events provided more than 1,500 families in underserved neighborhoods with education and tailored support services including bill-assistance options, workforce development opportunities, family care programs, and health screenings. Nearly 75% of those families were successfully connected to financial assistance and other support options, like energy efficiency upgrades for your home or business that have contributed to collectively saving ComEd customers over $10 billion on their electric bills.

Last year alone, ComEd’s overall outreach efforts connected more than 229,000 eligible customers to over $133 million in financial assistance and other customer support programs, which is the most support ComEd has provided since the pandemic. ComEd urges customers who may be facing past-due balances or experiencing economic hardships to take action now and connect with bill-assistance and energy-management options to help them manage their future energy needs.

Resource fairs are one of several ways ComEd brings support information directly to customers. ComEd resource tables oftentimes feature the Energy Force Ambassadors at local community events to teach customers about energy efficiency and the benefits of solar options and electric vehicles. Ambassadors teach people about these simple energy-saving tips by creating fun, interactive demonstrations.

The resource fair program prioritizes customer support by bringing services directly to the communities that ComEd serves. Partnerships with organizations like Greater Chatham Communities allow ComEd to build community relationships and make taking advantage of helpful resources as accessible as possible.
