Moving is usually described as one of the hardest and most stressful events in a person’s life, even more stressful than divorce. With a focus on making life easier for customers, ComEd is offering a new service that helps to lessen the stress of moving.
Kandela is a new and free concierge service that helps ComEd customers make their move hassle-free. With Kandela, ComEd customers can save time before, during, and after their move.
“There is so much going on when you are going through a move, this partnership with ComEd and Kandela really helped ease my mind and feel like everything was covered,” says a Mt. Prospect-based customer in a Kandela feedback form.
ComEd customers who contact the Customer Care Center requesting to transfer services to a new home are asked if they need help in completing other move-related services. If they say yes, then ComEd’s Care Service Representative will transfer the customer to a Kandela concierge and they can help them find a new Internet provider, cable television services, a moving company, and much more.

ComEd’s Call Center handles approximately 1 million calls a year from customers who are transferring their electricity services.
“There is a huge list of things people need to do when they move. We make everything easier for the customer by connecting them to what they need to settle into their new home,” says Janna Normington, a manager of client success for Kandela.
The top move requests from ComEd customers are transferring Internet providers, forwarding mail and installing cable television, she says.
